19th edition UE THE JEWELLERY EXPO, India’s most comprehensive and exclusive exhibition of cutting-edge, authentic and contemporary jewellery was held at Chennai Convention Centre, Chennai for the 3-day period from Friday September 20 to Sunday September 22, 2013. This exhibition was organized by United Exhibition in association with Rajasthan Youth Association Cosmo.
On the September 20, 2013 UE THE JEWELLERY EXPO was inaugurated at a glittering ceremony by actor Ms. Varalakshmi Sarathkumar. This exhibition is the 19th edition of UE The Jewellery Expo series of exclusive jewellery exhibition organized across India.
UE THE JEWELLERY EXPO has set a standard for jewellery exhibitions in Chennai where by the visitors from this part of the country, for the first time, could explore the best and best of jewellery collections under roof from across India to suit men, women and kids for all occasions.
The event with an underlying mission of “exploring new markets for the jewellery manufacturers and presenting an opportunity for the local people to buy the pan India latest jewellery designs and ornaments at their doorsteps” was a huge success in terms of exhibitor participation, visitor turnout, business generated and orders placed.
The three-day exhibition welcomed over 9,000 crème de la crème and upper-middle class society visitors from Chennai, Kanchipuram, and other surrounding cities. All took advantage of the opportunity to buy bangles, rings, necklaces, earrings, pendants, bridal collections, men’s collections, chains and accessories from gold, diamond, antique, custom, fashion, handmade, kundan, meenakari, navratna, pachchikam, silver and stone jewellery. The collections from different parts of India showcased variety of collections thus was a compelling factor for buying with irresistible offers at most of the stalls. The sheer variety and design was something the visitor felt very much satisfied and interesting to buy at the expo cum sale.
Leading jewellery houses and manufacturers from Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Vellore and many more cities participated in a larger way. The display profile of these jewellers include but are not limited to antique jewellery, bridal jewellery, custom jewellery, fashion jewellery, gold jewellery, diamond jewellery, handmade jewelry, jadau jewellery, kundan jewellery, meenakari jewellery, navratna jewellery, silver jewellery, stone jewellery, temple jewellery, luxury and designer watches, jewellery with nagas work, Italian and Turkish jewellery with Indian fusion with zircon fusion, convertible-jewellery, other accessories like gold platted / diamond studded cufflinks, tie-clips, etc apart from high-end jewellery sectors.
The highlight was display of gold jewellery with French enameling to without wax Jadau jewellery, from rhodium-plated jewellery encrusted with diamonds to dosham free Belgium diamonds teamed up with precious and semi-precious stones, the range are wide and mind-boggling. There are gold and diamonds everywhere. Fantastic earrings - traditional jhumkas, chandelier styled ones, small ones, big ones, humongous ones to suit all sexes, ages and tastes. The expo was an eye opener to the exquisite craftsmanship our country can boast of.
The massive publicity in almost all the media had the over whelming response exhibitions. An extensive publicity and advertising campaign was undertaken before and during the event. The entire gamut of media promotion activities were directed towards creating awareness about the 19th edition UE THE JEWELERY EXPO through newspapers, online media, social networks, signages, hoardings, banners, SMS, etc.
